Exeter's Premium Stamped Concrete Contractor

Exeter is one of New Hampshire's most distinguished communities — a Rockingham County town of about 16,245 residents steeped in revolutionary history. Home to Phillips Exeter Academy, the historic American Independence Museum, and the elegant Swasey Parkway along the Exeter River, this town demands premium craftsmanship.

We've completed many projects throughout Exeter — from the stately homes along Front Street and High Street to the premier addresses on Linden Street, Governor's Lane, and Hampton Falls Road. Our experience with Exeter's historic architecture ensures our work enhances, never detracts from, the town's character.

Exeter's terrain features tidal river areas near the Squamscott River, sandy coastal plain soils toward the southeast, and areas of heavy clay near the Exeter River. Understanding these varied conditions — especially the tidal influence zone — is essential for lasting concrete installations.

Case Study

Matching 18th Century Brick on Front Street

A Front Street homeowner renovating a 1790 federal-style house needed an outdoor entertaining area that would pass Exeter's Historic District Commission review. The commission required that all visible hardscaping complement the home's original hand-molded brick and granite foundation.

We developed custom color blends to replicate the look of aged hand-molded brick, including the subtle color variations and "imperfections" found in authentic colonial-era masonry. The European fan pattern — common in 18th century New England — completed the period-appropriate design. The Historic District Commission approved the project unanimously, and the Exeter Historical Society invited us to present the project at their annual meeting as an example of how modern materials can honor historic aesthetics.

Exeter Stamped Concrete FAQ

Common questions we hear from Exeter homeowners.

Do I need Historic District Commission approval?

If your property is within Exeter's Historic District (primarily downtown and along Front, High, and Water Streets), visible exterior changes may require HDC review. We're experienced with the application process and design work that meets commission standards.

What about tidal river flooding near the Squamscott?

Properties near the Squamscott River's tidal zone require special engineering. We use elevated bases, marine-grade sealers, and drainage systems designed for periodic tidal influence. Our coastal-climate expertise ensures lasting results.

What patterns suit Exeter's historic architecture?

European fan, running bond brick, and Pennsylvania bluestone are our top Exeter recommendations. These patterns echo the town's 18th century heritage. For estate properties, ashlar slate and travertine provide elegant alternatives. We bring samples.

Can you work on tight downtown Exeter lots?

Absolutely. We're experienced with Exeter's compact historic lots where access is limited and neighbors are close. We use smaller equipment, coordinate parking, and maintain pedestrian access throughout the project. Many of our best Exeter projects are on the smallest lots.

What's the best season for concrete work in Exeter?

Our season runs late April through mid-October. Exeter's coastal influence means milder winters but higher humidity. Late spring and early fall are ideal for curing. We monitor local conditions carefully for optimal results.
